Even Tory LEAVE voters don’t want Johnson back – politicalbetting.com

Polls that could make BoJo come back

Thanks to TSE for finding this – the past split vote on whether Johnson should try to return as an MP. As you can see, 47% of GE2019 Tory voters who supported Leave said it shouldn’t, compared to 43% who said it should. So a clear majority don’t want him back.

This goes against the narrative of him being an electoral asset. Yes, he has succeeded against Ken Livingstone and Jeremy Corbyn who are now discredited figures in the LAB movement. The victory also happened before the revelation of what was done during the lock.

For now, the issue is irrelevant as Johnson is not looking to return but who knows – that could happen in the not too distant future.

I have to say that I find these numbers a bit surprising given my perception that Johnson is still popular with the majority of voters who.might lean towards the Tory Party. I would argue that they are now damaged goods and that is across the political spectrum.
