The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Eva Marcelle and his wife, Michael Sterling, who divorced after five years of marriage. According to court documents, Eva filed legal documents to begin divorce proceedings on March 23, stating that their union was “broken beyond repair.”
Eva issued a mandatory “respect our privacy” statement to PEOPLE, saying, “This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, but sometimes life takes us in unexpected directions. Our children remain our biggest priority and eight and a half The years we have spent together will always be cherished.We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.

The couple also have two children, four-year-old Michael Sterling Jr. and three-year-old Maverick Sterling.
Eva is asking the court to grant her legal and primary custody of her children as well as child support so she can provide “care and maintenance” for the children.
In addition to custody of the children, Eva is also seeking an “equitable division” of the assets recognized and Michael during the marriage and that the debts acquired by the two are also “equitably divided”.
The separation of the couple came as a surprise to many. Eva and Michael got married in October 2018, and their wedding was filmed RHO. The couple showed no signs that their marriage was in trouble as they posted their second Valentine’s Day tribute a month ago. Eva’s post has been deleted.
Michael captioned the Valentine post, “My forever Valentine. ‘I love you so much that there is nothing else.’ Happy St. Valentine’s Day. #thesterlings”
Fans were left confused, with one commenting on Michael’s post, “How is there a divorce filing just a month after this post?”
Others urged the two of them to work together, “How are you going to get a divorce! Let’s do it!!”
As the third echoed many of the fans’ suspicions, “This cannot be changed in weeks, whatever is fixed! please! our generation must see real love! and see it last! love is a big way of a problem. There is no problem without a solution ! Fix it! YOU’RE KALRO!”
Michael has not issued his own statement at the time of writing this post.
