Erik ten Hag says “a lot of other players” should have been sent off compared to Casemiro’s red card in the win over Crystal Palace.
The Man Utd manager watched his midfield lynchpin miss the next three games after a VAR review saw him sent off for a foul 20 minutes from the end of Saturday’s win at Old Trafford.
Casemiro’s case came under review after VAR official Tony Harrington spotted his hand on Will Hughes’ neck during the 20-man clash – but footage showing Jordan Ayew looking like Fred in the melee was not deemed sufficient for punishment.
The incident was sparked by a final challenge on Antony by Jeffrey Schlupp, pushing him to the billboard with the force of his movement.

When asked if Ayew should see red, he added: “Of course.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira was unable to extend United’s unbeaten run to three games as the Eagles’ poor form continued.
He was optimistic about his performance after the hosts chased the Champions League so closely, but said his team needed to be more clinical in front of goal to improve the situation.
“We need to score more goals to win games. That’s what we need to improve,” he said.
“We had situations inside the box through Mateta and Eze, but they were inconsistent, dominated like that, when it was 11 against 10.
“There was some frustration, I think we had better decisions and the quality to score the second goal.
“It’s calm, it’s part of making a decision in the final third.”
Vieira said he did not see the incident that led to Casemiro’s red card, but advised the Brazilian to find trouble before he was sent off.
He told me Sky Sports: “I didn’t see a red card, I was far from it. The game has to be played with respect, and sometimes if you don’t respect your opponent, things can happen.
“The players from United are looking for it, and they created this situation. But it’s about staying calm, concentrating on what we want to do, and I like the character they’re showing now.”
