English-born Ghanaian Trae Cook-Appiah seals Farnham Town switch

English-born Ghanaian forward Trae Cook-Appiah has completed a move to Farnham Town Football Club, signing a one-year deal with the newly promoted National League South side.

The 25-year-old arrives as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Hemel Hempstead Town F.C., offering the Surrey-based club a timely attacking reinforcement ahead of the new campaign.

Cook-Appiah’s career trajectory has been shaped by flashes of promise and periods of adversity. He first caught attention during an impressive stint with Walton & Hersham F.C., where his return of 10 goals in 28 appearances in the Southern League Premier South earned him a move to Wealdstone F.C. in early 2024.

However, his progress was disrupted by a prolonged injury spell during his time at Hemel Hempstead, limiting his overall impact despite a strong contribution to their late-season play-off push.

Manager Paul Johnson believes the forward can reignite that early promise. “Trae I believe is someone that’s going to really excite the fans next season with his athleticism and goalscoring,” he said.

Chairman Harry Hugo echoed that optimism, highlighting Cook-Appiah’s resilience through injury setbacks and his readiness to rediscover form.
