Emmanuel signs N700b 2023 budget into law | The Guardian Nigeria News

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has approved the N700 billion Completion Budget as passed by the state House of Assembly for the 2023 fiscal year.

The new figure, as against N697,005 previously presented by the governor to the House, emanated from the 0.4% up review by the House of Assembly, amounting to N2.999 billion, to accommodate some statewide interventions on the road, now including recurrence. expenditure of N344.005 billion and N355.995 billion capital expenditure.

Emmanuel, performed a brief signing ceremony during the extended meeting of the State Executive Council, on Friday, at the EXCO Room, Government House, Uyo, thanking the State Legislature, the Budget Office and all other agencies that played a role in the timely delivery of the 2023 budget and success which was recorded by the administration in various areas of development.

He emphasized that collaborative efforts by all stakeholders in the budgeting process have helped to complete more than 4,300 Inter-Ministerial Direct Labor projects, maintaining that the various arms of the state government will continue to work together for the benefit of the people.

“I thank the Speaker and the State Councillors.

“Without cooperation, we will not progress as we have done. I would like to express my gratitude to the Chairman and members of the DPR Allocation Committee. I really need to thank the Permanent Secretary for the support given to the Executive members and especially the Budget Director”, he said.

“The government is one. We run in the same government with the same people, and the same goal. People should understand that whatever is done here is for everyone,” he said.
