A San Francisco jury said Musk did not lie to investors when he tweeted in 2018 that he had ‘safe funds’ to take Tesla private. Investors have claimed they will lose billions because they believe Musk will pay a premium for Tesla stock when, in fact, he has no outside funding to do so.
“Alhamdulillah, the wisdom of the people has won! I’m very thankful for the jury’s finding of not guilty in the Tesla 420 case,” Musk tweeted, referring to the confirmed stock price to be paid in the deal and a number that also doubles as a marijuana joke.
Musk, who has since owned Twitter and spends most of his day on the service thinking about whatever comes to mind, continued his celebratory tweets on Friday by responding to other Twitter users. “You’re right,” Musk said before moving on to another topic.
