EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa confirm the Taxi strike, which erupted on Thursday morning, causing disruption within the City of Ekurhuleni.
“Police officials have been deployed to monitor the situation, across the 3 regions of the city. It is unclear what the cause for the strike is, but investigations are underway, at this moment we cannot speculate on the circumstances.”
Motorists have been urged to take precautions and used alternative routes to get to their destinations.
