‘Ei! Ato, I thought you were my friend’ – Bryan Acheampong cries as Forson grills him

He was accused of deploying armed National Security officers who opened fire on the crowd at the Ayawaso West Wuogon State Assembly Election venue. He denied involvement in the incident that caused injuries and harm to several people in 2019.

However, Ato Forson continued to question Acheampong’s confidence considering the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election incident, that he would be a good Minister of Food and Agriculture.

At this point, the minister-designate could no longer contain his disbelief and he burst out “Ato, you are my friend; you must testify to my credibility” before asking “Or you don’t believe me anymore?”

But the Minority Leader insisted that Acheampong answered the question, saying the vetting process was not about giving special treatment to nominees given due to friendship or other considerations other than national interest.

Bryan Acheampong could be seen crying on live television about how disappointed he was at being critically scrutinized by someone he considered his friend.
