Effective Living Series: Insights into the basics of insurance
Taking the seat of the Effective Life Series on Citi FM and Citi TV, Senior Manager, Broker Led Corporate Distribution (Corporate Insurance), Michael Larbi, urged Ghanaians to sign up for an insurance policy that will help them in times of misfortune.
He further advised Ghanaians to insure their homes, vehicles, travel, property, health etc. to give them protection and financial security against unplanned losses.
Mr. Larbi entreated Ghanaians to make some financial arrangements in the area of investment, savings and insurance to fall in the event of death, accident or something bad hit people.
Digesting the topic, “Basics of insurance” on Citi TV and Citi FM, with the host Bernard Avle, Mr. Larbi, shared some key insights about insurance policies that have a tendency to benefit both the insured and the insured.
Be clear about the solutions you want to protect: There should be no ambiguity about the policy you are looking for. Try asking about the policy you want to sign up for. Go with the insurance company so they can give you the best solution. Make sure that the insurance that you buy, so that you will get a good result when the unfortunate happens.
Full disclosure of each information material: Disclose every piece of information to your insurance company about your property. Tell them everything they need to know to help them with the costs associated with the policy you are about to take out.
Insurance for Value: To get the right value, avoid insurance by quoting a figure that does not correspond to the cost of the premium. If you have insurance, you will be in trouble when disaster strikes. Your insurance company will not help you when you are insured. It is dangerous to be insured because you will be able to solve your own problems.
Update your policy: Make sure you always update your policy when it expires, don’t lose it. Pay your premiums, and see insurance as a tool you need for everyday life, so that if something goes wrong, you’ll be safe.
