The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) praised the 80.1% graduation rate by the matric class of 2022, “considering that it has happened because of poor service delivery.”
“The achievements of these young people, especially those who have not yet had the luxury that comes with separate development and which is controlled by the Independent Examination Board (IEB), is inspiring and sad, because no young person should continue their education. situation difficult and dehumanizing,” the EFF said in a statement after the release of the matric results on Thursday evening.
“Many young people go through a 12-year journey of pure misery when they enter the school system, where they cross rivers, walk long distances, suffer physical and sexual harassment by corrupt teachers, use pit toilets and are cramped in overcrowded classrooms.”

The party further encourages those who are unable to use the opportunities that exist to improve their results.
“For those who have not passed matric, we send you encouragement and strength and assure you that this is not the end. There are steps to improve your results and pursue alternative educational measures in the meantime, which will contribute to the development needs of South Africa.
Motshekga to receive his own report card
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has told Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga to expect its own report card on Friday.
“Unless the DBE addresses the problem of high dropout rates and ineffective curriculum offerings that fail to develop the knowledge and skills to access economic opportunities, the majority of matriculation’s future will be limited,” the DA said Friday.
“Not only the curriculum must be adapted with a determined focus on developing entrepreneurship and creativity to raise the best citizens who will be able to create economic opportunities and prosperity, the failure to establish a strong base of literacy and numeracy in the foundation phase sets students up to fail and increase the possibility they will either drop out at the next stage or get poor results to access further education as seen in their Matric results.

The party congratulated the matric class of 2022 for passing the exams despite the challenges they faced in the past three years.
“Not only do they have to suffer school disruptions due to the Covid-lockdown and the devastating floods, many of them also have to face increasingly difficult conditions at home due to the economic difficulties in South Africa and the constant stoppages.”
Furthermore, the committee thanked the teachers who helped the students to reach the matric.
‘The results speak for themselves’
The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng congratulated the matric class of 2022 with an overall pass rate of 80.1%, specifically highlighting Gauteng’s pass rate of 84.4%, making it the second highest performing province in the country.
“We also commend Gauteng for increasing the Bachelor’s passing rate and dominating the top ten districts in the country. We recognize that the district is in an area that has no history in our society,” the party said.

“IFP Gauteng also congratulates all parents, teachers, school districts and communities, as well as the provincial Department of Education, for their collective contribution to the successful matriculation of the Class of 2022.”
