Ebay is awash in SVB swag

While the failure of Silicon Valley Bank was a shocking event for the startup world and caused a crisis of investor confidence in the banking system, it has also become a pop culture event.

And as the fascination with the story continues, the leading run in the memories of the bank of collectors on Ebay.

While swag from most banks generally works, SVB’s rewards are higher, perhaps because the bank caters to startup owners and venture capitalists.

A meat and cheese board, for example, sells for $200 and a brick of wireless speakers fetches $80.

A fleece for the bank’s finance committee was listed for $1,000, but the seller received an unknown lower bid. Other fleeces and jackets (non-finance) (from North Face) generally sell in the $100 to $150 range. And coffee mugs and tumblers sell for $100.

Prices are going up, though. Sellers looking to unload SVB baseball caps and tumblers are asking over $202. And a set of tumblers and insulated bottles is looking for almost $189.

Want a piece of history, but want to spend less? How about a pint glass of SVB for $22?

Ebay has long been a place for people who want to own pop culture, despite the tragic news. Last year, for example, the site saw a proliferation of listings about the death of Queen Elizabeth, with mourning bracelets costing $80,000 each, even though the site vowed to remove them.

More recently (and less tragically), people have been using the site to hunt down Raspberry Rally, the latest Girl Scout cookie offering, with prices reaching $50 per box.
