President Akufo-Addo on behalf of the Governemnt and the people of Ghana has sent heartfelt condolences to the Government and the people of Turkey and Syria in the destruction and tragic loss of life occasioned by the earthquake Monday.

“May his soul rest in peace. Our hearts and prayers go out to the survivors, and we pray that our fellow Ghanaian, Christian Atsu, is found safe and sound,” said in a tweet on Friday afternoon.

Former Black Stars winger Christian Atsu, 30, has reportedly been trapped in the rubble after a massive earthquake in Türkiye.

According to the report of Turkish journalist, Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Hatayspor player and club director Taner Savut have been left in the ruins after the earthquake in Türkiye.
