Trump’s scandal-ridden president’s filth failed to appear for the world to see Tuesday in a New York courtroom. He is the first former US president to be indicted for a federal crime. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. Republican members of Congress have defended him, downplaying the allegations as a “clerical error”. What Trump is doing is not only not trivial, it is anti-democratic. By covering up the sexual allegations made by Stormy Daniels, Trump voters were robbed of information that could have swayed them from voting for him. The hush money Daniels paid was recorded as legal fees and many of those checks to Stormy were written from the Oval Office during his presidency. What would Senator Lindsey Graham say if Joe Biden gave money to porn actresses and lied about it?After Trump was indicted, Senator Lindsey Graham gave his most embarrassing speech to date in support of Trump. An epidemic of cringing erupted across the country as Lindsey cried, screamed and begged Trump supporters to send him money. Republicans and democrats are wondering what Trump will do to Graham who once called Trump a xenophobe and a “race bigot.” He did not praise Joe Biden “as good a man as God made him” and called him a radical who is destroying the country. Republicans who have said they will run for president in 2024 are defending Trump for fear of being attacked by him if he doesn’t. There is only one explanation for the loyalty that Republicans show Trump; this is a cult! It’s time for the justice system and silent politicians to stop tip-toeing around the transparent tantrums of Trump’s shame rooted in insecurity and narcissistic anger. They look and sound ridiculous and unhinged to anyone who isn’t a member of the MAGA cult. More indictments appear, and Trump’s era as a threat to democracy is almost over. People like two young black members of the un-democratic Tennessee House of Representatives were kicked out of their seats this week. Trump and his allies are a relic of the past.
