Donald Trump Addresses Rumors About His Death

President Donald Trump appeared at a press conference Tuesday with yet another poorly concealed bruise on the back of his right hand, and he denied any possibility that his health might be declining.

Speculation that Trump might have died hit a fever pitch on social media over the weekend because of his decision to stay at the White House for the long holiday weekend and remain largely absent from the public eye.

Trump didn’t appear to follow Tuesday when Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Trump how he found out he was dead. (Watch video above.)

“Did you see that?” asked Doocy.

“No,” Trump glumly replied.

The president then asserted that there’s no way he could be in ill health because he’s done “numerous news conferences” recently and they were “all successful.” He said he “was very active over the weekend,” despite there being no apparent activity at the White House.

Trump also pointed to his activity on social media as evidence of his existence. At one point, Trump had written, “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has previously told reporters that Trump’s bruise is a result of shaking lots of peoples’ hands, coupled with a daily dose of aspirin and a diagnosis of “chronic venous insufficiency,” which can cause blood to pool in the extremities.

It’s unclear if that fully answers the question, however.

Reporters have spotted bruises on Trump’s other hand, which he doesn’t use for greeting people, and he’s also appeared in public with unmistakably swollen ankles.
