Doctors behind the audio alleving unprofessional actions against some wanted officers
The Ghana Police Service says it has unsuccessfully tried to identify one Dr Patrick Asiedu, who said in an audio that some officers deliberately planted narcotics in his car to sell ยข20,000 from him.
Police said initial investigations found no reports of the incident at the East Legon and Accra Central police stations, which were mentioned in the viral audio.
“As part of the investigation, the Police have also contacted the Narcotics Control Commission and the Ghana Armed Forces and both institutions have indicated that there was no such incident,” said Director of Public Affairs ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi. Saturday, January 17, he said.
The police, therefore, invite the victims and the public in general, to help the investigation especially when there is a rapid transformation with the Service.
“We want to assure the public that the Police Service in its efforts to be an institution worthy of respect and trust in the country, and a point of reference for the rest of the world, will not indulge in unprofessional conduct among officers and officers. The Service is determined to resolve this issue .
