South African DJ and entrepreneur, Ntombezinhle ‘DJ Zinhle’ Jiyane took to Instagram to pay tribute to rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes who was murdered on Saturday.
Award-winning rapper and friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane was shot dead outside the popular Wish Restraurant on Durban’s Florida Road on Friday night.
AKA and DJ Zinhle dated for several years and have a daughter, Kairo Forbes together.
The businessman was seen visiting the late rapper’s home in Bryanston on Saturday with longtime friend DJ Oskido.
A number of industry colleagues who worked closely with Kiernan, including Da LES and Kabelo Mabalane were also seen visiting AKA Bryanston’s home after news of his brutal murder sent shock waves across South Africa.

AKA’s father and sister visit the shooting site
Kiernan’s father Tony Forbes and brother Steffan visited the site of the shooting on Saturday to lay flowers where the rapper was killed.
Children and fans also paid their respects on Sunday morning, lighting candles and placing other flowers where the rapper breathed his last.
Gigi Lamayne opens up about AKA’s death
Speaking to Newzroom Africa on Sunday morning, rapper and media personality Gigi Lamayne said AKA’s death still feels unreal.
She said that she and other female hip hop artists broke into the industry and for such pioneers, it still feels unreal.
“These are the people who make people believe that the culture can be trusted, so that we can break all the stereotypes.”
He also commented on the CCTV footage of when AKA was shot that started circulating on social media saying it was a red flag for him and the Saps needed to find some answers.
“There are a lot of things that need to be worked on and it’s pretty clear that this has been done before. I hope that the justice system will step up and do something about it,” he said.
DJ Zinhle paid tribute to the father of his child
DJ Zinhle has yet to comment on the brutal murder of her daughter’s father, but she shared a TikTok video of AKA and Kairo dancing on her Instagram account on Saturday. The comments section is disabled but the post has already received over 171,000 likes.
She also shared some photos of the rapper and Kairo on her Instagram story, including a photo of Nadia Nakai and AKA. The two started dating in 2021.
The couple vacationed in Sun City with Cairo and other family members in January.
