The attention of Friends of Horma Akaisi Miezah (FOHAM) has been drawn to a misleading statement allegedly coming from Messers Ebenezer Cudjoean d David Oscar Amoah, who served as the NPP Party 2020 gathering agent for the parliamentary and presidential elections in Essikado-Ketan. Constituency (EKC) and also campaigned for his opponent, Charles Bissue.
In summary, he said that Ms. Horma Miezah was caught in a leaked recording that showed that the NPP rigged the 2020 parliamentary election to elect the current MP, Hon. Joe Ghartey, during the engagement with several constituency polling station executives and electoral area coordinators between December 27, 2022 and January 2, 2023. As a result, we consider it appropriate to respond, because it borders on the issue of Truth, Honesty, Misrepresentation. , Party (NPP) cohesion and Big picture.
To start, we condemn any attempt by both internal and external political detractors to damage his hard-won and enviable reputation for mud. It will not and cannot be washed. Therefore, we appeal to our dear and loyal supporters, the rank and file of the Party, especially those in Essikado-Ketan Constituency and the general public to ignore and disregard these baseless allegations. This allegation is completely untrue, fabricated and dishonest only to cause displeasure and anger against his excellent self and political ambitions to contest for the Essikado-Ketan parliamentary seat in 2024 when nominations are opened. We say in authority, that the smear campaign was engineered and sponsored by his potential contender for Essikado-Ketan, embattled Mr. Charles Bissue and spearheaded by the Constituency Deputy Secretary, Mr. David Oscar Amoah who is the lead campaigner. We want, unequivocally, to state that the accusations against Ms. Horma, the Deputy Director General for the National Lottery Authority (NLA), the West Regional Treasurer, the NPP and the parliament hope and remain the imagination of political opponents and detractors inside and outside the constituency.
For this purpose, we provide the essence of the problem:
1. Ms. Horma, in the spirit of Party brotherhood and yuletide, organized a public gathering to share some Christmas gifts for Party loyalists who worked hard in Essikado-Ketan constituency in their personal capacity.
2. In the meeting, he took the opportunity to speak to the participants for more than 45 minutes.
3. During his speech as the Regional treasurer of the Party, he reminded, among other things, how the Party almost lost the Essikado-Ketan constituency seat but for the vigilance of some Party hierarchy in the constituency and region like him.
4. In his speech, he revealed how the constituency voted massively for Nana Akufo-Addo but could not say the same about the parliamentary candidate.
5. In 2019, he was part of the tasked by the regional body to coordinate Sekondi, Wassa East, Shama and Essikado-Ketan constituencies. He is actually a regional team leader who is working hard in the constituencies he is registered to help retain parliamentary seats for the NPP.
From the above, we would like to emphasize and clarify the purpose of the message with the following facts and figures from the results of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections:

Ms. Horma reiterated the importance of the party electing a solid candidate who can help maximize parliamentary votes in the 2024 election. So, we are confused how anyone can link her statement to mean that the NPP rigged the 2020 parliamentary election in Essikado-Ketan constituency.
Therefore, we call on these critics to produce the audio that Mrs. Horma has categorically stated that the NPP rigged the 2020 parliamentary election to elect Hon. Joe Hartley. Or they should stop the bad and unhealthy internal Party discourses and campaigns, which have failed and were pronounced dead on arrival. Even the leaked tape that Ms. Horma says is the basis of her unbelievable statement, is 1 minute and 54 seconds long with no sign of any indecent allegations. The meeting was public and Ms. Horma appealed to the party faithful to avoid petty squabbles, work hard together and choose the right candidate for the constituency in 2024 so that the NPP can eliminate 8.
Furthermore, we also know that the “promise and fail” candidate’s campaign in the constituency has failed and that is why the campaigners have used evil intrigues and slander against the clear choice of the people in the constituency.
The press release dated January 8, 2023, signed by Oscar Amoah, assistant constituency secretary and chief campaigner for Charles Bissue is false, inappropriate and not a true representation of the constituency executive as our investigation has revealed that there is no executive. they see a malicious agenda to destroy the hard earned reputation of the Regional Treasurer and also cause disaffection for him and the party in general. Therefore, we call on the Constituencies and Regional Parties to immediately initiate an investigation into their actions and ensure that the necessary sanctions are imposed to prevent party executives from tarnishing the party’s name for personal gain.
Finally, we want to bring to the attention of the people of Essikado-Ketan, Westerners and Ghanaians that the NDC is joining its internal political critics to sing a chorus of nonsense and disagree with them knowing that they have even withdrawn their petition in court. because there is no evidence, it is evident that Ms. Horma Miezah’s candidacy will lead to punishment in 2024. Therefore, support the candidacy of NPP candidates whose reputation has been greatly damaged to facilitate efforts and campaigns. Calm down, the NPP, a reputable party, will not allow anyone who seeks power to achieve all their goals, using dubious methods such as even humiliating the party and the person they want to lead any campaign in their name.
