Alum added, “Because it’s hard for me to go to New Jersey. And it’s a little too real, like going to a party… I told Dave, I’m like, I can’t do that. I can’t do it. We are going to a wedding and I have time to prepare, but I can’t do the engagement party. So, he called me and he was like, no, you’re coming. This is part of your therapy. You’re coming to New Jersey and it’s a good reason and you’re going to be safe, and I promise you’re going to be fine. So I was like, okay, okay.
He continued, “First of all, Dolores and I have been in the same room since we became friends. We don’t have, like, we don’t have this big fight. We both saw each other at Mother Teresa’s funeral. We were good to each other. In fact, he said about Frankie. Little, Frankie did something in California. I said, let someone stay with me. He met Dave. It was very cordial. Very good. I’m happy to pick up where we left off. It’s okay.”
“And I saw him one more time, I guess at Lauren’s wedding before I like left abruptly … So it’s not about me and Dolores need to be in the same room and what will go down. Me and Dolores are almost the same, because it will not make the scene that brings Teresa first. It’s not about that. It’s just about, I really don’t feel comfortable being on the East Coast for an event like that.
The star went on to say, “The Dolores part wasn’t the biggest problem, but it was. So, I was talking to her when I found out it was going to be a very small, intimate party, and she said, ‘Oh, you know, the girls from the show it will be there.’ And you know, what people don’t know is, well, she and Dolores have known each other for 20 years, but they’re not friends. Like Teresa and I have been friends, we’ve gotten to know each other, and we became close after she started filming for the show again. Me and Teresa is like a friend and has been since we were in our 20s.I am godmother to her daughter, Dave, and Lou are very close.
“Dolores and her family are very close [with the Manzo family] and I’m not comfortable with that,” he said.
Day also revealed the biggest regret of RHONJ. “My biggest regret, I guess [was] leave, but the biggest regret when they are in [the show] to be very sensitive,” he explained. “Looking back now, I wish I had a tougher skin like, some things I see people in interviews and don’t take it personally.”
The alum said she’s “not a good Housewife” because she has “patience” and doesn’t overreact.
“Maybe I would have stayed longer if I hadn’t taken things so sensitively. Because my family seemed to be falling apart, before my eyes and I hope to be stronger,” said Dina.
The star also revealed that he is considering joining RHOBA – well Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 2, although he decided not to do it, because he “can’t talk” about the legal case that is “pending.”
