Depot Tennis Club Wins Jamrock Independence Day Tournament

Depot Tennis Club celebrates its victory

Depot Tennis Club (TDC), Tesano, has defeated Regional Maritime University Tennis Club (RMU) in the final of the Jamrock Independence Day Tennis Tournament held at the VRA Club House in Akosombo.

Depot Tennis Club entered the finals after defeating TDC Tennis Club from Tema in the semifinals while RMU Tennis Club also defeated Ho Tennis Club in the semifinals.

In the final, Depot tennis club pulled off a dramatic comeback from 3:0 down to win the match 4:3.

In the final match, mixed doubles, Frank Quartey and Eugenia Asigri of the Depot Tennis Club beat Jacob Amoako and Tina Tagoe of the RMU Tennis Club in a tie breaker to secure the victory for the Depot Tennis Club.

In the battle for third place, Ho Tennis Club defeated TDC Tennis Club in a crunch mixed doubles final while Precious Nunana Okoh and Desmond Ntim beat TDC Tennis Club’s Isaac and Helena Hammond to secure third place.

The CEO of Jamrock Bar And Event Center, Patrick Kwabena Addo, expressed his delight at the level of participation and competitiveness displayed by all the clubs participating in the tournament.

He guarantees the club more exciting tournaments with exciting prices ahead. He acknowledged all the sponsors for their support in organizing such a fun tournament.

Depot Tennis Club took home trophies, cash prizes and bragging rights.

The Chairman of the Club, Bilal Bin Hassan, expressed gratitude to God and also thanked the leaders and all members of the club for their hard work and dedication.
