• He called New York candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is a Puerto Rican woman, “whatever she is.”
• He defended supporters who said “bring back the gallows.”
• He went on a Muslim bashing show with Steve Bannon
• He moderates a Facebook group that is a haven for racist memes
• He proudly associated himself with Sebastian Gorka, who had ties to a Hungarian right-wing group that collaborated with the Nazis..
• His career is based on immigrant-bashing, supporting Trump’s crazy comments about immigrants, and ratcheting up deportations.
• He was supported by Neo-Nazi groups and did not blame him
• He mistakenly called black history teaching “critical race theory” to justify banning books and courses from school curricula.la

DeSantis is not the man to lead America in 2023. His policies seek to limit the rights of non-white, non-Christian, and non-heterosexual Americans. He instills white fear, anti-Semitism, mysogyny, homophobia in his base. He is a culture war advocate using rhetoric that divides America and encourages violence. Horrible ideologies include:

• Sign the “Don’t Talk Gay or Trans” Act that targets LGBTQ+ youth and educators across the country with prevention and providing safe and inclusive classrooms. This will prevent teachers from talking about LGBTQ+ issues or people, further stigmatizing LGBTQ+ people and isolating LGBTQ+ children. (Human Rights Campaign, June 2022).
• Pass the “Stop Woke Act” which “restricts protected speech in workplaces with more than fifteen employees and classrooms by censoring honest dialogue about systemic racism, gender, and racial discrimination. It also changes Florida’s employment discrimination statute to give employees the ability to file discrimination claims against employers who engage in training or discussions about Black history, LGBTQ+ issues, and other concepts of injustice and discrimination”. Journalist Richard Reich of the Guardian has used the term “fascism” when referring to DeSantis. Reich wrote, “Fascism also includes hatred of “those people” (those who are considered different by race or religion, or outside the mainstream, or who were born abroad), controlling what they learn and what books they are allowed to read, controlling what to be an independent government. units (school boards, medical boards, universities etc.), control women and the most intimate and difficult decisions they will make, and ask the private sector to support the regime.
