Former senior Tory and leadership contender David Davis has become the latest to slam the new voting arrangements that came into effect in the May 4 local elections. Then everyone who comes to the polling station to vote must show their approved voter ID document.
They say this will reduce participation and make the whole process more complicated.
All this was forced by.BoJo in the hope, I think, that will help the Tories.
Many millions of pounds are taxpayers’ money being spent on the project as it is clear that there will be more work to be done by election staff.
Some of these rules are simple. Those over 60 will be able to use a travel pass while it will not be an acceptable form of ID for younger people.
All this to solve a problem that was almost absent in less than half a dozen cases in the last general election
