MANILA, Philippines—Danny Kingad has a chance to climb the ONE Flyweight Championship rankings next month at ONE Fight Night 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II in Bangkok, Thailand.
Already the third best fighter in the flyweight division, Kingad can get closer to the competition if he wins against rising Indonesian player Eko Roni Saputra.
Kingad was set to see action at ONE 164 in Manila last month but was left without a fight after his opponent, Gurdarshan Mangat, pulled out of the fight just days before the event.
He will have to face the upcoming Saputra, who has a record of 7-1-0, to further promote his quest for the title against the defending champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
Currently, the Team Lakay fighter holds a record of 14-3-0.
ONE Fight Night 7 will be headlined by a rematch between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker for the bantamweight title.
Lineker was stripped of the bantamweight championship last October because he missed weight for his title fight against Andrade.
Tawanchai PK.Saenchai will also defend his Featherweight Muay Thai title against Jamal Yusupov.
Yusupov is currently unbeaten in the league with a 3-0 record while Tawanchai will be defending his first title since winning against Petchmorakot Petchyindee in November.
