‘Turn on the power or we will take it from you’ – the DA told the ANC during the march to headquarters

The Democratic Alliance’s fight against load shedding took place when the party went to the ANC’s headquarters, Luthuli House, in Johannesburg.
Held at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg, the party said its “power to the people” is the ANC’s call to end blackouts, cadre deployment policies and ANC corruption.
Marshalls wearing yellow and orange reflectors maintain security. A heavy police presence was also maintained in the square.

The case against the Maselspoort Resort racism trio is pending

The case against three white men accused of assaulting two black teenagers at the Maselspoort Resort in Bloemfontein on Christmas Day has been adjourned until February.
Jakobus Klaasen, Johan Nel and Stephanus van der Westhuizen appeared briefly in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder, common assault and criminal damage.
The trio is facing criminal charges for allegedly assaulting the two black teenagers in an attempt to get them out of the pool.

The SCA rejected Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s application to appeal the R11.5m payment decision

The former chief operating officer (COO) of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Hlaudi Motsoeneng has suffered another judicial blow after the High Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein dismissed with costs his application to appeal to the South Gauteng High Court, announcing the decision. The board then to pay people R11.5 million as illegal and illegal.

Estina milk project: The corruption case against Mosebenzi Zwane, the accused, has been adjourned until April

The corruption case against former Free State agriculture and rural development MEC Mosebenzi Zwane and 16 accused persons has been adjourned until April 21, 2023.
Zwane and co-accused, including eight companies, on Wednesday, appeared briefly in the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein, in connection with the R280 million Estina controversial farm project.
Judge Johannes Daffue adjourned the matter until April, for further case management sessions.

RAF CEO, the board ordered to pay the costs from their own pockets in the Supreme Court matter

Road Accident Fund (RAF) CEO Collins Letsoalo and his board of directors have been ordered to pay legal costs by the Mpumalanga High Court, in an unprecedented trial for a troubled transport entity.
The fund released a team of lawyers, leaving their jobs and no plans for a court case.
Judge Francis Legodi, on Tuesday, ruled after the RAF failed to attend the trial and the pre-conference hearing despite many notices for some time, and further failed to comply with the court’s directive regarding the two prosecutors.

One of the concerns of Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane this season is how his team misses clear opportunities.
