The Accra Circuit Court has fined artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, aka Bulldog, Ghc48,000 for saying on tv that President Akufo-Addo will not complete his second term if he does not pay his customers from Menzgold.
If he doesn’t pay the fine, Bulldog will spend 40 days in jail.
Bulldog has pleaded not guilty to offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace.
But he was found guilty today after a two-year trial by a court, presided over by Evelyn Asamoah.

On January 9, 2021, Bulldog was part of a panelist appearing on an entertainment program on United Television (UTV).
When the Menzgold issue came up for discussion on the show, Bulldog said, “The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will not complete his four-year term if he fails to pay Menzgold customers.”
In his defense, the artist manager and entertainment critic said he never threatened the President or breached the peace.
However, he said he wanted to appeal to the President’s conscience to help Menzgold’s customers.
However, in his judgment, the judge considered that Bulldog could not intend to appeal to the President’s conscience because of the gravity of the statement.
The judge said the statement clearly threatened the President and intended to incite him against the First Gentleman of the land.
“What he said could have serious security implications because it could endanger the President,” the judge said.
