The Miss South Africa (SA) pageant has become one of the prestigious events of the year, making our beauty queens known around the world and for aspiring contestants, it is a dream come true to win the competition.
Miss SA announced on Thursday that she is working hard to find the next woman to follow in the footsteps of current Miss SA Ndavi Nokeri.
Over the years, names such as Zozibini Tunzi, Demi-Leigh-Tebow, Rolene Strauss and Shudufhadzo Musiḓa have taken the pageant world by storm by winning international titles such as Miss World and Miss Universe.
However, past winners have also broken beauty standards such as Zozi’s short hair for Shudu’s bold look.
Miss SA 2023
Stephanie Weil, CEO of Miss South Africa, said in a statement: “We are known on the global stage as ‘pageant disruptors’. We are constantly striving to keep the competition relevant and fresh and we are sure that our fans will be happy and excited about what we have do it this year.
Entries for Miss South Africa 2023 will open on Monday, March 13, at 3pm.
The contest says potential entrants can expect “some new additions to this year’s competition” to be announced alongside the opening of applications.

Hinting about the change, Weil said: “I like to think of it as a ‘revolutionary pageantry”.
More details on what participants need to do to enter will be published on Monday, March 13.
International women’s day
Miss SA Ndavi Nokeri is currently celebrating International Women’s Day in her home province, Limpopo.
The organization wrote: “In celebration of International Women’s Day @ndavi.nokerii returned to his home province, Limpopo and visited Gavaza Primary School and Phangasasa Secondary School.
“In partnership with @Forevernew and @Imbumbafoundation through the @caring4girls program, @ndavi.nokerii shared pearls of wisdom with students and distributed 2 100 sanitary napkins to over 300 girls.
“Our Miss South Africa aims to continue to reduce the impact of poverty as a barrier to girls’ education and reach more girls through the #GiveWitheGrace and @forevernew_sa initiatives,” she concluded.
