By defeating Trump in the 2020 election, America gets a president who is not an adulterer, or an accused rapist, or an accused criminal, or a suspect investigated in rebellion, or a violation of the Presidential Protection Act, or tax evasion or racist. By supporting a flawed Donald Trump, Republicans have decided to accept an incompetent and dishonest criminal to run their party. Trump and the GOP have normalized lies and thus millions of Americans have become desensitized to disinformation and will settle for believing anything they are told. MAGA constituents find the brutality of Trump and his allies acceptable and amusing. Unfortunately, being an honest, loyal, competent, compassionate person like Joe Biden doesn’t mean as much to 35% of Republican voters as carnival barking, false promises, and wearing silly hats at rallies.
Rep. Jim Jordan is as corrupt, ruthless, and incompetent as Donald Trump. The difference between them is wide; Jordan kisses ass, and Trump doesn’t. Watching Jordan get away with exploiting his position as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee is a reminder that the rules of how our government works need to be reformed. Instead of working in law, Jordan acted as a defense attorney for Trump in an indictment issued by New York DA Alvin Bragg. Jordan led the movement to destroy all pending investigations into Trump. Rep. Ted Lieu insists it is illegal for the GOP Justice to try to interfere in the pending criminal trial. So while Republicans are accusing Democrats of fighting the government against Trump, Jordan is fighting the House against the rule of law and violating the separation between the branches of government.Rep. George Santos still sits in Congress for one reason: the Republican Party accepts destructive behavior by members because power is more important to them than values. Santos is a proven liar, fraud and is under investigation for fraud and theft in Brazil. If a Democratic member of the House of Representatives is caught telling one of the lies Santos told, Jim Jordan will demand that he resign or organize a committee to sanction him.
