Cop Handcuffs People Over GH¢2 Akpeteshie Credit
A cobbler, Frank Kofi Adu at Suma Ahenkro near Sampa in North Jaman District in Bono area has been handcuffed by the police, Inspector Kennedy Mantey Ampofo popularly called Opete who operates a drinking establishment for failing to settle a GH¢2 debt on alcohol. he bought it.
Say it in a video viewed by DGN Onlinethe victim indicated that he visited the police drinking place with a friend to buy but could not pay.
He then told the owner of the drinking establishment who was a policeman that he would settle his bill later but the officer did not agree and was handcuffed overnight.
Interestingly, according to Kofi Adu, after walking around in handcuffs looking for money to pay the officers and get the money when he returned to the drinking place when he realized that the place was closed and the police could not be found.
So he reported the matter to the Sampa Police to intervene by unlocking the handcuffs but all efforts were futile.
Kofi Dey went further to Suma Ahenkro Police Station to ask for help but could not open the handcuffs and his hand was swollen.
Recounting his ordeal, he said “Yesterday around 10 to 11 at night I bought liquor from ‘Opete’ (policeman) and my friend said that he had no money, so he paid two cedis. I told Opete that I will still pay two cedis but he did not agree and handcuffed me,” he said in a video that has since gone viral.
“So, I went out to borrow two cedis to pay him but when I got to the place he was sleeping. I knocked several times but he wouldn’t open. So, I tried several police stations to open the handcuffs but I couldn’t, and my hands were also swollen.
