Construction of Agenda 111 at Jasikan still at ground level after gov’t paid contractor $1.2m

Jasikan project, since the sod cutting ceremony is still on the ground.

The Ranking Member of the Health Committee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh said he is concerned that the project is at its current stage, considering the amount of money invested in the project.

He said “The record available to us, each of these sites was given not less than one million dollars, Jasikan has been given $1.2 which is more than GH¢15 million.

“The only thing that convinces me – the site for Agenda 111 is the sign. No one can be sure that the site is not a football park.”

Akandoh, who is a member of the Juaboso House of Representatives, stated that the government has no plans to complete the hospital.

What is even more worrying, he stressed, is the lack of special funds for Agenda 111 projects which he fears will burden the succeeding government.

Nana Addo on August 17, 2021, launched the Agenda 111 project to ensure Ghanaians nationwide have access to quality healthcare services.

Each will be a high-quality, standard-design, one-hundred-bed hospital, with accommodation for doctors, nurses, and other health workers, and is expected to be completed within a year.

However, for more than two years, none of the promised hospitals have been completed.
