People from both parties called on Santos to step down, but the Donalds stood down, the CNN anchor noted.
Blackwell asked Donalds about the call to resign against Santos from both sides of the aisle, however, Donalds stopped short of asking the embattled Republican to call quits.
“Regarding the large list of people who have asked to resign, no, I’m not on it because I don’t think it’s the job of any other member of Congress to say or call,” Donalds said. “I think that’s between him and the voters. They have to deal with these issues on an individual basis.
Blackwell turned to GOP lawmakers before closing the interview.
“Well, I would say if you asked President Biden to resign and 84 million people voted for him,” Blackwell said. “Congressman Byron Donalds, thank you very much.”
Donalds said Biden should step down in 2021, after withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan.
