
Strike CEO Jack Mallers has taken to Twitter to announce that Strike is now an integrated partner with payments giant Fiserv, Clover’s parent company. Next, Strike has launched a pilot integration with Clover to allow merchants to receive bitcoins via the Lightning Network.
according to his announcement, unlimited integration for Strike. However, merchants will be able to receive Lightning payments from any source – “From Cash App to nodes via Tor. If you can make Lightning payments, you can use them,” said Mallers on Twitter.
Mallers explained that this rollout is part of a 90-day trial period, which will measure the speed and cost of facilitating transactions using the new integration. Additionally, the number of businesses that integrate Lightning into merchants will be closely monitored.
After the pilot, Strike aims to enter the Clover app store, and after that, direct integration into Clover. This will enable Lightning as a standard for all Clover merchants, putting it alongside card networks like Visa and MasterCard.
“Ultimately, this payments giant wants to see Lightning in action,” Mallers said on Twitter. “They want to feel it, touch it, and see people use it. An open, fast, cheap, inclusive, and innovative payment network looks great. It’s time to show Lightning as the world’s leading payment rail.
The trial period is now active and Clover traders can get closer to Strike for cheaper and faster payments using the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
