The British Horseracing Authority has confirmed that the Clarence House Chase will take place in Cheltenham next Friday.
It is the third time since 2013 that Ascot, the home of the race, has been abandoned due to weather and Cheltenham a week later stepped in to hold the race.
The BHA would like to thank the Horserace Betting Levy Board for their contribution to the prize money, with £90,000 up for grabs.
Entries will return to the initial closing stage, with confirmations made on Monday morning followed by declarations on Thursday.
Punters were looking forward to the clash between the Chasewinner Energumene Champion last year and the hero Arkle Edwardstone – and after the connection of the former confirmed earlier in the week they were keen to reveal that the race was rearranged, Alan King combined suit.
He said: “We’re going there, that’s the plan. If it’s not rescheduled and Newbury is off (the Spirit Chase Game) then we’re really in trouble.
“I’m very grateful they’ve put it back together and that’s going to be the plan.”
