Bridal disaster. After returning from vacation with my fiancé Ryan Dawkins, Clare Crawley realized her wedding dress was stolen – but she said it was fate.
“I know I always share this, but I’m a firm believer that everything is meant to be, no matter if it looks good or bad or whether I want it or not. I believe to the core of my soul that everything happens for a reason. And we can don’t know what the reason is now, but it works. So let me tell you what happened,” the former Bachelorette, 41, told Instagram Story viewers on Saturday, January 28.
She continued: “When Ryan and I came back from Hawaii earlier this week, my car broke down when we left. And guess what was in the car? Remember my wedding was a long time ago. My wedding dress was in my car! It was there because I had to pick it up. to get the last change and I want to remind myself not to forget.
Unfortunately, a thief stole her wedding dress before she returned. Theft frustrates and annoys the ex Scholar contestants, especially since their big day is just around the corner.
“At that moment, it was like ‘Ughhhhh, what am I supposed to do?’ And I thought, ‘It’s okay. It’s about the moment and what we’re celebrating. I can wear anything, and I’ll be happy when we’re there.’ So I went to get my veil … and I talked to the owner and he was the sweetest person in the world. I just told him, ‘Forgive me now. This is what happened.'”
The bridal shop owner became Crawley’s godmother and found the perfect replacement. “Basically, in three days, I got a new dress that was altered, pressed, re-altered in the best way, like it fit better. It turned out to be a wedding dress that was on my Pinterest board three years ago. It was my dream dress,” Crawley gushed. .
“I have to say all this because of the owner, Rae. She actually picked out the dress and was like, ‘Here wear this.’ And I was like, ‘OK, I’ll wear anything!’ And it’s literally going to be where – it’s going to make me cry,” California said as her eyes began to water. “It’s the best dress and better than I imagined. So, [I’m] still crying happy tears but everything works out how it’s supposed to work out – and sometimes even better. Even in the moments when it seems like I’m not doing well, I feel better. It turns out that’s how it is.”
By changing her dress, she has a “new”. They also show “something borrowed” and “something blue” there. She will wear diamond earrings that she borrowed, and her handkerchief will be embroidered with the phrase “Happy Tears” in blue thread.
“That handkerchief incense? I won’t lie. When I opened it, my eyes popped out,” said the hairdresser via Instagram Story on Saturday. “I feel so emotional right now because we’re getting married and it’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of and even better. And better. So I’m very happy.”
Crawley and Dawkins began quietly dating in 2021, but only went public with their relationship in September 2022, a month before the CEO of Mascot Sports proposed.
