Chuck Todd told Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) was ordered to return to his “partisan cable cocoon” during a heated interview after the Republican ranted about Hunter Biden on Sunday. (You can watch the two back and forth below).
Todd asked Johnson about whether he believed the president’s son committed a crime and added that it wasn’t “a crime to make money off his last name” before he committed it.
“I would say that you are being ethically harassed by Hunter Biden …,” Todd said.
“You don’t? Don’t you?” Johnson asked back.
“I’m a reporter, I deal with facts,” Todd snapped back.
Todd then said Johnson should be “equally angry” with President Donald Trump’s former son-in-law Jared Kushner, who received loans from the Qatari government while he was working at the White House on Middle East policy.
Johnson, who said he was not “targeting individuals” but aiming for the truth, then Todd, who targeted Hunter Biden.
“Part of the problem, and this is quite obvious to anyone watching this, you didn’t invite me to interview. You invited me to argue with myself,” said Johnson, who then claimed that the media was biased and part of the political reason “inflammation”.
“You can go back into your partisan cable cocoon and talk about media bias all you want, I know it’s part of your identity…,” Todd replied flatly.
