Chrissy Teigen Has to ‘Bandage’ Wound After Daughter’s Birth

Real talk. Chrissy Teigen opens up about her postpartum life after welcoming daughter Esti Maxine with her husband John Legend – and the struggle of recovery from a C-section birth.

“Omw to bandage together both my wounds and 3.8 seconds clip from Beyonce performing in Dubai until I get a full hbo special,” Teigen, 37, wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 23, along with a mirror selfie in which she appeared to have stains on a black dress. The model also shared a photo of the outfit via her Instagram Story. “It’s amazing ,” she captioned.

Legend, 44, confirmed that he and Teigen’s rainbow baby had arrived during a private concert on January 13 and Craving Everything Together The author had given birth to a baby a few hours earlier.

On Thursday, January 19, Teigen took to social media to share the first pictures of her little one, announcing that she underwent a C-section.

“He’s here! Esti Maxine Stephens — the house is packed and our family couldn’t be happier 💕,” the Chrissy’s Court alum wrote along with a photo of the baby along with her sister, Luna, 6, and Miles, 4. “Daddy cried a night of joy seeing Luna and Miles full of love, and I learned you still need diapers with AC parts!? We are in bliss. Thank you for all the love and well wishes – we feel them all!

The next day, the Utah native pictured her body after giving birth.

“Sending love and healing today!” Teigen captioned the selfie with Voice alum. “Thank you so much @bellibind!! Great experience today!”

Legend, for his part, gushed about the family’s new dynamic through his own social media post on Friday, January 20, saying, “I’m in awe of Chrissy’s strength and resilience and I’m so happy to see how Luna and Miles embrace their baby sister,” she said via Instagram on its own Friday upload.

Teigen and the “All of Me” singer announced in August 2022 that they were expecting their next child after suffering a difficult pregnancy with their last son Jack two years earlier. After her miscarriage, Teigen often took to social media to share details of her IVF journey.

“A few years ago it was a blur of emotions, but joy has filled the house and heart again. 1 billion shots later (on the legs lately, as you can see!) we have more on the way,” wrote Teigen via Instagram at the time , sharing her IVF journey. “Every appointment I say to myself, ‘Okay, if I’m healthy today, I’ll announce it’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief when I hear my heartbeat and decide that I’m still nervous. I don’t think I’ll ever come out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I feel hopeful and wonderful. OK phew, it’s so hard to keep this up for so long!”

That same month, Legend explained why he felt it was important for his wife to open up about the tragic loss of their son — even though it was hard to do.
