Many felt the goal would make the Fifa Puskas Award (Goal of the Year) list last year but when the nominations were announced it didn’t.
It was a big goal scored. He got the ball from just inside his own half in the game against Orlando Pirates, and realized Siyabonga Mpontshane was not far from his line.
Maart then unleashed a long shot that sailed into an empty net behind Mpontshane who tried to track it back.
The winner who gives the Chiefs full points on the day in this game is the biggest in the local football calendar.
When asked about this snub this week at Naturena, Maart said he’s not one to dwell on things he can’t control.
“At the end of the day it’s the almighty who put everything out there for you,” said Maart who started his career as a junior in the Pirates.
“And you can’t control it with your own hands. You can’t be angry because you can’t control it.
“If it’s not there, there’s nothing, there’s nothing we can do,” added Maart who signed for Chief Sekhukhune United at the start of the season.
The chief supporters are tired
It’s understandable that Maart wants to quickly get over the disappointment he feels because he has a job for the Chief.
Amakhosi haven’t finished well with three straight defeats in the DStv Premiership since the new year started.

He felt it was time to stop when they met Royal AM at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday evening.
“It’s been three defeats in a row now… We can’t lose four, we’ll give it everything we’ve got because the supporters don’t like it.
“We try to make them happy whenever we can and we work hard for them,” Maart said.
