As you may have heard by now, ex Teenage Mother star Chelsea Houska has moved over to HGTV, where she hosts a new home improvement show alongside her husband, Cole DeBoer.
Down Home Fab it may be the newest series on the network’s roster, but it certainly isn’t hard to find an audience.
In fact, Chelsea and Cole have the biggest breakout stars on HGTV!
The pair achieved huge ratings with their debut episode, and the audience only grew in a matter of weeks.

Now, in a relatively rare move, the network has renewed Down Home Fab after only two episodes.
That means, of course, that Chelsea and Cole are on the hunt for a new house to renovate!
Well, according to a new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, DHF’s production company, RTR Media, is looking for eight homeowners in Sioux Falls, South Dakota who want their homes renovated for the show’s second season.

“Do you dream of taking your home from drab to fab?” read the casting news posted by RTR this week.
“We want to hear from you!”
Each house will be featured in individual episodes from Down Home Fab.
As a testament to the show’s popularity, HGTV increased the order from six episodes in season one to eight in season two.

To qualify, homeowners must be interested in receiving “good” renovation treatment in at least three or four separate rooms.
And here’s the catch that can discourage many potential applicants:
Homeowners must also be willing to shell out at least $75,000 for renovations.
Well, we guess we’re wrong that HGTV is footing the bill for the project.

“There is a general assumption that the show is doing free renovations, or at least discounted items,” said an article on the network’s website.
“On the contrary, the homeowner has to find the money for the project.”
“But, even if it’s an out-of-pocket cost, the main draw is still getting to work with HGTV designers,” HGTV senior vice president of production & development Betsy Ayala was quoted as saying in the piece.

So we guess for each new episode of their show, Chelsea and Cole should find a resident of Sioux Falls with a sizable home and spare 75 grand sitting around.
This may not sound like a sustainable business model, but it has been used for a long time by HGTV.
Take, for example, events like Home townwhich hosts renovate their homes in and around Laurel, Mississippi.

The series has been running for seven seasons, and there doesn’t seem to be any danger of running out of properties to add to it.
By all appearances, Chelsea and Cole have a bright future, and this exciting new phase is just beginning.
We think the Jenelle Evanses of the world should keep hating!
