Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic faces several months due to injury, head coach Graham Potter has said.
Pulisic came off in the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City in the Premier League with a knee problem.
Potter initially said the US international would miss several weeks, but, after further assessment, the timing of Pulisic’s return has changed considerably.
However, there is positive news on another good option for Chelsea with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang available for Thursday’s trip to Fulham.
Raheem Sterling will not be ready for Chelsea’s return to Premier League action but there is hope the injury is not as severe as Pulisic’s.
“Pierre is fine and he will be in the squad,” Potter said. “Kristen is a few months we think. Raheem less, hopefully less than that.”

Joao Felix arrived on loan from Atletico Madrid for the rest of the season with news of Pulisic’s injury being more severe than first thought.
Chelsea paid around £9m in loan fees and covered the Portugal international’s entire salary, but had no option to buy Felix at the end of the season.
Potter faces an injury crisis at Stamford Bridge and admits to “sharpening the club’s focus” in pursuit of Felix.
Felix is considered a consideration for Thursday’s game at Fulham and Potter says in terms of fitness, the striker is ready to be dropped straight away.
Potter added: “From a physical point of view, he can come in. It’s definitely an unknown period as he moves from one club to another, but it’s a case-by-case basis.”
