Chase Chrisleyhusband, Emmy Meddersappeared on Savannah ChrisleyTuesday’s podcast, where he opened up about the ups and downs of his and Chase’s relationship — and the struggles he faced with Savannah.
Before Savannah opened up about her parents’ “sadness,” Chrisley knows best star Todd Chrisley,53, and Julie Chrisley49, are preparing for the beginning of their prison sentences, Emmy, 28, confirmed the suspicions of fans, who thought she and Chase, 26, split before their October engagement.
“We had some ups and downs,” Emmy admitted in the December 27 episode of Unlock with Savannah Chrisley, via Page Six. “It was on and off, and then we did well, and then there was one, like, major breakup that we didn’t talk about, like, I want to say two months, but it could have been more. like two weeks.”
Although 25-year-old Savannah confirmed Emmy and Chase, who started dating before the COVID-19 pandemic, have been separated for more than two weeks, Emmy insisted the decision “feels like two months.”
“And after that, we got back together, and we’ve been pretty, like, good, honest,” she continued.
Speculation about Chase and Emmy’s potential breakup began early last year when the two stopped posting photos of each other on their Instagram pages. But in the spring, the pair confirmed again.
As for Emmy’s issue with Savannah, she once called Chase’s sister a “b-tch”.
“But that’s the way it is, miss. I mean, I know we’re not brothers yet, but, I mean, families are going to fight,” Emmy said.
And according to Savannah, any tension between her and Emmy is a result of her family “wanting the best” for Chase.
“And then, sometimes, like, our family says, ‘Yeah, he’s too good for her,’ so they go back and forth,” she admitted, noting that the family “didn’t hate” each other after Chase’s engagement and Amy.
Also in the podcast episode, Savannah said that after her father Todd and her mother Julie were sentenced to 12 years and seven years, respectively, for bank fraud and tax evasion, she was “grieving the loss of a living parent.”
“In my mind, I was like, ‘I can’t go on with my life,'” Savannah said, via Us Weekly . “Until I know he’s going to be there, I can’t get married. I can’t have children.”
“You can’t end your life,” Emmy replied. “And your parents, our parents, don’t want us to do that, no matter what happens.”
According to Savannah, she received kind words from Todd after his sentencing.
“Dad was like, ‘I might not be in front of you, but I’m still alive. I’m still fighting. You don’t have to go a day without talking to me,'” Savannah recalled.
Now, despite receiving criticism online for doing so, Savannah has focused on her beauty brand, Sassy.
“I’m moving forward because it’s really easy, I don’t have to focus on anything else. So, in terms of business, I’m going to move forward. I’m going to do a podcast, Sassy, I’m going to do everything,” he said. “But personally, I feel a sense of guilt associated with moving on with life and thinking that mom and dad aren’t here for certain life events.”
Savannah is also focused on family, especially now that she has custody of her siblings Grayson Chrisley16, and his stepbrother Kyle Chrisleydaughter Chloe, 10.
“[I’m] trying to navigate how you teach two kids who aren’t fully developed and … let them understand the situation,” Savannah said. “It’s really hard.”
Todd and Julie will begin their sentences in January.
