Charles Taylor gives his verdict on Mohammed Alhassan’s move to Kotoko
Former Asante Kotoko star Charles Taylor has praised the club for securing the services of defender Mohammed Alhassan.
Taylor expressed his belief that the club had made a smart move to sign the former Hearts of Oak man.
Taylor said on Akoma FM, “The case of Mohammed Alhassan is not new to our football. Hearts of Oak rejected him, I am very surprised that Hearts let him go.
“He’s better than a lot of defenders in the league, in my opinion. He’ll solve a lot of Kotoko’s problems, because the team’s defense has been weak recently.
He was surprised that Hearts of Oak let Alhassan go, considering his important role and the player’s status as one of the best players in the team.
“The decision to release him is a disgrace to the player’s career,” Taylor said.
“I want to thank the management of Kotoko for bringing players of this caliber. His qualities are different, and many defenders do not have them. Even some of our Black Stars players don’t have that kind of talent, in my opinion. He needs to train hard, and I’m sure he will be one of Kotoko’s best defenders.”
During his time with the Phobians, he was a key contributor to the team’s success, helping them win two FA Cup trophies and ending their long wait for the Ghana Premier League title in 2021.
