Charles Sampson relieved by familiar weather conditions ahead of Uganda clash
Charles Sampson has expressed relief over the weather conditions in Uganda as Ghana’s Black Princesses continue preparations for their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Uganda.
The Black Princesses held their first training session at the YES Centre Sports Arena in Kampala after arriving for the crucial second-leg encounter.
The session focused on endurance work, ball retention, defending, wing play, and shooting drills.
Ghana heads into the game with an advantage after beating Uganda in the first leg in Accra.
“The weather has been good it is almost like in Ghana I was expecting a weather that maybe we will be having difficulty in breathing I have not experience it yet. I was told of altitude issues so I hope it stays like this. Because of the travel we couldn’t train yesterday so it was good we can do a shakeup today. The pitch we got was an astroturf very tough so we couldn’t push much but we are glad with what we were able to do and hopefully we can train in the arena that we are going to play on Saturday and then we get conversant with it,” he told GFA Communications.
Ghana will face Uganda at the FUFA Stadium in Kampala on Saturday, May 9. Victory will secure qualification to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
