The light is as bright as a diamond! Rihanna brought down the house during the half hour show at Super Bowl LVII.
Rihanna, 34, performed a medley of hits at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12. The “Umbrella” singer wore a red jumpsuit while belting out some of her most popular songs including “Diamonds” and “Better Dog”. My money.”
Before his appearance, the former Super Bowl player took to social media to wish the Barbados native luck. “Reminiscing about the good times and I hope you have a great time for tonight’s show, Rih!” Shakirawho lead the 2020 halftime show together Jennifer Lopez, wrote via Twitter. “Sending all the love. You got this @rihanna,” the 2015 performer Katy Perry also tweeted.
Chris Brown, who dated the artist “Karya” for three years before the tumultuous split in 2009, also seemed to support the former during her big moment. “Go girl,” he wrote via Instagram Stories after the 13-minute show.
In September 2022, Rihanna announced that he would headline the main event by showing a photo of what appeared to be a tattooed hand holding an NFL-branded football.
The NFL’s official Instagram later confirmed the news by posting the same snap with the caption, “Let’s GO – @badgalriri @rocnation #SBLVII @applemusic @nflonmox.”
“We’re excited to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music, said in a statement at the time. “Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans a historic Halftime Show performance.”
The “Monster” singer’s label and management company, Roc Nation, is working with the NFL and Apple on the program. According to the NFL’s official press release at the time, Roc Nation served as executive producer of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show as well as “strategic entertainment advisor of the live show.”
After the big announcement, Jay-Zwho founded Roc Nation and has collaborated with Rihanna on some of her greatest hits, released a statement singing musician musician.
“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman with humble beginnings who exceeds expectations every time,” the 53-year-old rapper shared in a September 2022 press release. “A man born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most famous artists. Made his own in business and entertainment.”
In January, the pop star teased fans about what was to come when she tweeted a 12-second “pregame” of herself getting ready for the halftime show at the Savage X Fenty Game Day Collection. The video features clips of Rihanna from various angles in a stunning Savage x Fenty outfit.
That same month, they unveiled their Game Day collection – which included everything from Rihanna-themed hats and T-shirts.
The Super Bowl LVII halftime show marked Rihanna’s first major appearance since Us Weekly confirmed she had given birth to a son – whom she shares ASAP Rocky – in May 2022.
While the proud parents have yet to publicly announce their son’s name, sources said us Before giving birth, Rihanna wanted to honor her “Barbadian heritage… [as well as] A$AP’s roots” with his moniker. “He wants both cultures to be included,” the insider said: “It’s very important to him to keep his roots from generation to generation.”

Rihanna noted that directly to the artist “Praise the Lord”. “I called him and showed him,” said the “Dog Better Than My Money” singer. “Then I was at the doctor’s office this morning and our journey began.”
Rocky, for his part, gushed about his love for GQ in May 2021, saying that her life was “better” with him.
“So it’s better if you get The One. He’s probably, like, a million more. I think you know, you know. He’s The One,” he said.
