Batten down the hatches! Captain Lee Rosbach is officially out Below Deck – and will be replaced by other members of the Bravo family, some exclusive sources told Us Weekly.
According to insiders, Captain Kerry Titheradge of Below Deck Adventure will take the place of Lee, 73, for the 11th season of the nautical series, which will begin filming in Grenada later this week.
Lee’s exit news came just a few months later Captain Sandy Yawn stepped in to replace the Michigan native during Below Deck season 10.
“Captain Sandy came in[d] bailed me out in a difficult situation and I appreciate her efforts,” Lee, who has starred in Below Deck since debuting in 2011, tweeted about his untimely farewell at the time.
During the December 2022 episode, viewers watched Lee say goodbye to the crew before returning to the US to deal with ongoing health issues.
“I’m going back to it [United] State, straighten this out – and as soon as I do – I’ll go back to the first flight and tell anyone on board to get the fk off my boat,” he chided his costars when he broke the news. .
While the captain noted that he planned to return to the charter to finish the season – and referred to the plane ticket as “going back and forth” – he told his colleagues that he wanted to “do the right thing” by getting rid of it.
“As you know I’ve been struggling with mobility, and it’s very difficult and I’ve let you down, and I’m sorry. That’s why I’ve decided to leave the boat,” he explained. “One of the biggest problems now is that I can’t see. I don’t know who did it, it’s my job,” he said. “He expects me. There is a point where the captain is objective, he has to put the interests of the crew first.
Ahead of departure from St. David, Lee is special to him us if his health problems improve.
“The back out operation is great, it’s true,” he said exclusively us in December 2022. “You will find this season that I do things that I have never done in my career or in my life. And there will be many situations where you will go like, ‘Wow, did not see that coming at all.’ And not only will it be true for the viewer, [but] that was true for me and the crew as well.
The reason for Lee’s official exit has yet to be revealed, but the seasoned vet will give Kerry the nod.
When the native of Australia – who has starred in Below Deck Adventure from the premiere in November 2022 – this is the Bravo newbie, which is exclusively open until us last month about Captain Lee’s advice when the two paired up for a round of golf.
“‘Be yourself. Be the same person I play golf with,'” Kerry remembers Lee telling her. “Then I asked her about social media and how to do it. I said, ‘I heard I have to ask someone to do it, so I don’t get caught up in it.’ They said, ‘No, do your own social media. Don’t let anyone do that.’”
Kerry also revealed that he would later meet Lee again at BravoCon in October 2022, where the former restaurateur gave a pep talk before the event. Adventure premier
“The show wasn’t even out yet, but we got into a conversation and he was like, ‘Man, you’re going to do great. You’re going to do great. I can see it.’ He said, ‘You will do fantastic in this franchise.’ Then he talked to my daughter. It was cool.”
