Below Deck Mediterranean star Aesha Scott statement Captain Lee Rosbach had to step down from the captain’s duties amid health problems, which is currently in its 10th season Below Dec. He also said that his ego was hurt afterwards Captain Sandy Yawn take over the reins.
The chief stew said that he felt for Captain Lee, but his pride had to take a back seat, and he had to focus on the needs of the boat and the charter season.
“I feel like he shouldn’t be back for this season because he’s having trouble walking,” Aesha said while appearing on the show Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef.
“He’s getting old and it’s better to leave a higher place than try to keep going,” he continued. “Now he has to go this way which is probably very embarrassing for him.”
Speaking of claws, Captain Lee had an online fight with Captain Sandy after he fired Camille Lamb this season and didn’t follow “protocol,” Lee said, without telling him beforehand.
Captain Sandy has repeatedly applauded, admitting that Captain Lee was aware of the termination as “polite”, and he confirmed that he even reached out to Captain Lee to resolve the differences, but he has not returned the call.
Aesha believes Captain Lee is “old school,” and having a female captain come in and replace her mid-season “destroys her ego.”
“I think she’s an old-school salty seal and the fact that a younger female captain is going to take over – I think it’s going to hurt her ego,” she said. “I knew walking in there, he would swear. I knew it would affect him.
It looks like Captain Lee’s ego may have taken another hit as some inside sources have revealed that the longtime captain’s tenure will end after season 10.
Every source in Us Weekly, season 11 of Below Deck will see Below Deck Adventure‘s Captain Kerry Titheradge took over the helm for Captain Lee.
No specific reason was given for Captain Lee’s exit, but it is reasonable to assume that there was a health problem. He has always maintained that he will stay on the show until he is forced to die.
As Captain Kerry is ready for the new Below Deck travel, he shared the words of encouragement that Captain Lee gave during last year’s BravoCon Below Deck Adventurepremiere.
“We got to talking and he was like, ‘Man, you’re going to do great. You’re going to do great. I can see it. You’re going to do fantastic in this franchise.'”
