After ending 2022 with the unveiling of the GR Sport, Toyota has given the Hilux another series of updates, although this time only for the Xtra Cab model.
spec changes
Potential last life cycle changes in readiness for the new Hilux in 2025, the changes, based on those applied two years ago, are around the Xtra Cab Legend with single cab and Double Cab remain untouched.
Mainly focused on safety, items are now standard with Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.0 system which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning.

No change in power
As before, there are no changes under the bonnet or on the transmission front, with petrol power coming from a choice of three mills; 102kW / 183Nm 2.0 liter, 122kW / 245Nm 2.7 and 4.0 liter V6 that produces 175kW / 376Nm.
Standard on the four-cylinder variant is a five-speed manual gearbox, with the crooked six getting a six-speed automatic as the sole option.
On the diesel side, the entry-level 2.4 GD develops 110kW / 343Nm, but replaces the five-speed manual for six-speed in the model bearing the GD-6 insignia. When mated to a six-speed automatic, the torque increases to 400Nm.
Rounding out the range, the most popular 2.8 GD-6 produces 150kW / 420Nm, the latter jumps to 500Nm with a change in gearbox from a six-speed manual to a six-speed automatic.
The same engine is also present in the GR Sport, but reworked to deliver 165kW / 550Nm. A recalibrated take on the six-speed automatic box won as the only option as well.
Color chart
In total, seven colors are available on the Hilux range, but apart from Platinum White Pearl is limited to Xtra Cab and Double Cab, and Attitude Black is exclusive to the latter.
These include Glacier White, Chromium Silver, Oxide Bronze, Cosmic Blue, Arizona Red, Inferno Metallic and Graphite Gray Metallic.
The most popular Sand Beige, available in all three body styles, but only by special request, with the GR Sport graphic including four regular colors; Glacier White, Attitude Black, Arizona Red and Graphite Gray Metallic.

Regardless of bodystyle, all Hilux sticker prices include a three-year/100,000km warranty as well as a nine-year/90,000km service plan.
