This strongly highlights the challenges facing Sunak and the party – the Tories have lost the most support among their normally strong age group.
What is surprising is that the Tory losses were greater than the Labor gains which reflects what I have been saying for weeks – Starmer’s Party has not achieved enough to vote GE2019 Tory.
What is happening is that a large chunk of the Tory down to GE2019 voters are now clueless. My guess is that in the next election, the big slab will return to the front.
When the new polls come out, the number I’m looking forward to is the proportion of Tory voters in GE2019 now not making a party choice. Unfortunately not all polls provide this detail.
