Buhari salutes Chekwas Okorie at 70 | The Guardian Nigeria News

President Muhammadu Buhari has rejoiced with former National Chairman and 2015 Presidential candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief Chekwas Okorie, on his 70th birthday.

The President, in a statement by his Spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina, was in Abuja to join family, friends and well-wishers in celebrating the statesman.

According to Buhari, Okorie embodies many of the values ​​cherished by the founding fathers of Nigeria, including unity in diversity, peace and stability of the country.

He noted that as a community leader, philanthropist and politician over the decades, Okorie has always been driven by the noble vision of putting the people first at all times, and showing prosperity to all.

The President recalled the unwavering support of the UPP under Okorie for re-election in 2019, thanking him for believing in the administration’s mission to build a better Nigeria.

According to him, when commemorating counting the blessings of being a septuagenarian, God Almighty will give him the strength, wisdom and health to do more for humanity.
