President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from his hometown, DauraKatsina State, following the postponement of governorship and state council elections by INEC.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the president is in Daura for the presidential and National Assembly elections as well as the governorship and state assembly polls.
Nigerian leaders, who successfully contested the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, left Daura for Abuja as INEC postponed the governorship election until March 18.
While in Daura, the president received Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo and APC governorship candidate of Kano State, Nasiru Gawuna.
He also had a parley with a former classmate who visited him at his home.
The President also inspected the Guard of Honor at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Katsina International Airport shortly before his departure.
The President is expected to return to Daura on Friday for the governorship and state assembly elections on Saturday.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family, friends and associates of Franca Afegbua, the first female Senator of Nigeria, “whose adventure into political leadership raised the glass ceiling for women in the legislature in the second Republic.”


The latter senator was elected in the National Party of Nigeria (NPN), to represent the old North Bendel.
