The President has described as “outrageous” and “false” media reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed not to hand over to Tinubu ball.
In a statement by the presidential aide, Garba Shehu, on Friday, he wondered why after campaigning for Mr. Tinubu, the president would turn back if he would not hand over power to him.
INEC had on March 1 announced Mr. Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate as the winner of the February 25 election.
He defeated 17 others including Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labor Party (LP) to emerge the winner.
Messrs Atiku and Obi are now challenging the victory of the APC candidate in court.
Mr. Buhari, who will leave power on May 29 after completing his second term, is as much a member of the APC as Mr. Tinubu.
Online media, Sahara Reporters has reported that Mr. Buhari has said that he will not give up on Mr. Tinubu.
The President, in the statement, said that the committee formed and appointed by the president with the responsibility to facilitate and manage the handover process by the current administration is being used.

Also, the Daura community where Mr. Buhari hails from, has started preparations to welcome his son back after eight years in power.
“He, for his part, wants to return home to enjoy his retirement,” the statement said.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that the committee chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, was appointed and inaugurated in February.

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE
THE PRESIDENT HAS NEVER SAID HE WILL NOT GIVE UP TO CHOOSE TINUBU
The presidency wants to condemn it as outrageous and false, and condemn the fake news brigade for giving false quotes to President Muhammadu Buhari and spreading them.

How can you actively campaign for someone, vote for them and then say you won’t give up on them? This beggars belief.
The situation of the Sahara Reporter is quite sad because his ownership is a political partisan in today’s politics, in fact he lost the presidential election. Instead of talking about the problem, they repeatedly peddle lies in the hope that people will believe them as the truth.
The government is in a transition phase. The Transition Committee, consisting of representatives from the outgoing and incoming administrations, meets almost every day to plan the handover to the Tinubu/Shettima administration. Thirteen committees are branches of the main committee, some of them, to organize military training and pull out of President Buhari, either all are in the works or soon will be. So far, everything is going well and there are no signs of trouble.
As for the President, the people of Daura have started preparing to welcome their son back after the successful administration of the country for two periods of eight years. He is eager to return home to enjoy his retirement.
