MANILA, Philippines—Bryan Bagunas has signed with Imus-ITP in the 2023 Turf Spikers Open Conference.
AJAA Spikers on Friday announced the acquisition of the national team star, who is expected to return to the country next month.
“We are excited to have one of the best players in the country to play for our team,” said AJAA Spikers team manager Atty. Timothy Ngo.
“When we told the players and coaches about it, they were all excited – especially the players because some of them had never played with Bryan. They couldn’t wait to learn from him,” he said.
Bagunas currently plays in Taiwan for Win Streak Club in the Top Volleyball League.
The former UAAP MVP is about to return to the Spikers’ Turf where he last played in 2019 as part of the Air Force.
“I’m very happy and I can’t wait to go back home. It’s a different feeling playing on the Spikers’ Turf,” said Bagunas, 25 years old.
Bagunas will arrive in Manila in the second or third week of March.
The Open Conference preliminary round will end on March 19, while the semifinals will begin on March 22.
Bagunas will be reunited with national teammates Kim Malabunga and Ish Polvorosa when he joins Imus.
