There was a time, not too long ago, when it seemed like the entire country was united in its desire to see Britney Spears freed from the conservatorship that had oppressed her for half her life.
But this is America in 2023, which means we can’t stay on the same page with anything for long.
Today, Britney’s “biggest fan” called the police and kicked her out of the restaurant.
Most of this harassment was done by people who said they were acting out of concern for Britney.
People like to stick their noses into the lives of celebrities and justify the invasion of privacy by claiming they are acting in their best interest.
But it is especially disturbing in Britney’s case, because she has spent half her life under constant surveillance, and she is forced to prove in court that she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself.
And it’s especially annoying from Alyssa Milano, who, as a former child star, should know better.
“Someone please check on Britney Spears,” Milano tweeted in December.
It seems the tweet was sent in response to Brit’s decision to delete her Instagram account after she posted several dance videos that some commentators deemed “disturbing.”
Brit didn’t react at the time, but it was clear that Alyssa’s words stuck with her.
Today, Brit is back on Instagram, and earlier today, she posted a response to Alyssa’s tweet from six weeks ago.
“It makes me sad to see things about me from people who don’t know me!!!” Spears wrote.
“This definitely feels like a form of bullying!!!
He added, “Ladies, we’re supposed to be pulling each other, not pulling each other!!!”
Britney later clarified the situation, explaining that she deleted her account for the simple reason that she was tired of all the negative comments.
“I closed my Instagram because so many people said I looked like an idiot dancing and I looked crazy,” the pop icon wrote in a lengthy Twitter thread, which has since been deleted.
Spears added that she was “bothered” by the media’s obsession with her video.
“Yes, it hurts my feelings. I’m sensitive,” Britney said.
As for the situation where he reportedly behaved in a “manic” fashion when he went out to dinner with his husband Sam Asghari, Britney explained that he was reacting to the overzealous behavior of his fans.
He complained that a group of drunken girls at the restaurant “stayed in front of me,” and finally pleaded with him to “please get away from me.”
“With that said, please know that I’m doing the best I can,” Spears finished her thread.
“I’m alive, well, healthy, and ready to start a new day – a new morning!!! To my true fans, God bless you!!!”
So it looks like Britney isn’t doing well, she just needs a little space from everyone – including random drunk girls and Alyssa Milano.
